Description

"Tyrannosaurus Rex" It's name loosely translated means "tyrant lizard", and it was one of the the largest predators that ever walked the earth. The T-Rex lived throughout the western United States in the Cretaceous period around 67 million years ago.
T-Rex was bipedal walking on powerful hind limbs measuring around 13ft. tall and up to 40ft. long. Weight was calculated to be 5-7 metric tons and the powerful hind limbs could propel them to speeds around 25mph. A massive tail was needed to counterweight its enormous head which measured on some fossilized specimens up to 5ft. in length. The skull is wide at the rear and narrow at the front providing good binocular vision.
The teeth are closely packed and rounded with reinforcing ridges and a backwards curve, and teeth from this carnivore have been measured at 12in. With bacteria infested meat lodged in its teeth, like the modern day Komodo dragon, the "septic bite" from a T-Rex may have infected (and eventually killed) wounded prey. Their bite strength is calculated to be 3 times the force of a great white shark, and 15 times greater than an adult lion.
The huge cavities in the skull that housed the olfactory bulbs suggested that the Tyrannosaur had a highly developed sense of smell adding to the debate that they were more of a scavenger than a predator being able to smell carcasses from great distances.
Tyrannosaur arms were extremely short for its size with a very limited range of motion. It is speculated that its forelimbs were used to assist the animal in rising from its resting prone position while at rest. Scientists speculate that the average life span of a Tyrannosaurus was around 30 years, being on the top of the food chain they were most likely felled by old age, disease, or hunger.

Nicely detailed. It looks almost real.
